I've been pretty good about eating organic, clean and healthy whole foods, but it's been a slow process swapping over my favorite makeup to non-toxic products. I've tested and tried so many healthy products that just were not as effective as my other products. I also learned that by wearing makeup daily, I was subjecting myself to 5 pounds of chemical absorption into my body each year, in which, unlike food, it can remain inside of us forever!
I'm so grateful I found Organic Beauty Blogger @Organicbunny on Instagram. She is the queen at testing out products and reading ingredients. She only has the most clean and pure products on her website. I've linked all the products I purchased from her site in this post. Thanks to her research, I have finally found amazing organic non-toxic makeup that works!!!
Here are my top 4 beauty swaps that I absolutely love!
I love estee Lauder double wear foundation because it has amazing coverage and goes on the skin so smooth and easily, but I'm teaching yoga and sweating just about every day. I don't want a heavy foundation seeping into my skin daily. (I still wear this on special occasions..) but my every day swap is a foundation by crunchi. It goes on smooth and has great coverage. I feel healthy and glamorous when I wear it!
Living in Florida and being a sun worshipper, sunscreen is a must.
Many sunscreens are loaded with toxic ingredients and leave a white sticky residue on the skin. If you were to swap just one beauty item at a time, this is the one I highly recommend! Suntegrity 5 in 1 natural moisturizing sunscreen. It's vegan, nontoxic to you or the environment, non greasy, it primes and moisturizes the skin and its tinted! I wear the shade light.
3. LIP LINER
I used to use Mac lip liner in the color Soar. On average, women consume seven pounds of fatty lipstick in their lifetimes. EW! The FDA doesn't regulate the cosmetics industry very closely, so it's up to each of us to know what's in our beauty products. Knowing this I have swapped it out for a clean lip liner from the company Zuzu, in the color Innocence. It goes on easily and I just add a clear lip gloss on top for a natural lip with a pop of pink. This liner is free of hormone-disrupting plastics, harsh FD&C Lake Dyes, parabens, BHT, fragrance and more!
4. SELF TANNER
There is nothing I love more than a fresh sunless tan to boost my confidence and feel extra fierce! I love this healthy tanner, it gives you a glowy bronze color and smells like chocolate moose! You can
